Bill and others celebrated the 20 year anniversary re-issue of “The Day The Bass Players Took Over The World” at the Summer NAMM 2014 session in Nashville, TN.
BASSES LOADED 2014 was a concert celebrating all things bass and the 20th anniversary of the first Summer NAMM Basses Loaded show in 1994. More than a dozen bassists ROCKED the house on Thursday, July 17, on the main stage of Nashville’s Music City Convention Center from 6 p.m. to 7:15, during Summer NAMM.
The show featured Dave Pomeroy and the All-Bass Orchestra, composed of many of Nashville’s finest electric and acoustic bassists, who were joined by numerous special guest bass soloists, including Chuck Rainey, Bakhiti Kumalo, Vail Johnson and Bill Dickens. Concert sponsors are Warwick, Kala U-Bass, GHS Strings, Boss, and the Music Performance Trust Fund.
The concert will be open to the public as well as NAMM attendees, and also marks the first ever DVD release of the historic 1996 video The Day The Bass Players Took Over The World, featuring Dave Pomeroy and the All-Bass Orchestra, with guests Victor Wooten, Steve Bailey, Oteil Burbridge, and Bill Dickens, and lots of special bonus material.
The DVD is now available to order online from www.earwavemusic.com and delivery will begin on July 18.
